ROGER KETTLE - FIRST DAY COVER WITH AUTOGRAPH SENTIMENT SIGNED
The British cartoon script writer signs his name with "Best Wishes"
First Day Cover Signed: "Best Wishes/Roger Kettle", in black ink, 6½x3¾. Roger Kettle (b. 1951) is a cartoon scriptwriter, most notably writing for British comic strips Beau Peep and the popular Andy Capp. Kettle has been writing Beau Peep since 1978, a parody of adventure novel Beau Geste, hoping to create in Beau Peep a familiar "loveable loser" feeling as Charlie Brown in Charles Schultz Peanuts. His time with Andy Capp is uncertain, as he was uncredited as a writer for several years, and has recently not been credited with the cartoon. Corners slightly worn and creased. Toned. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Fine condition.
